Access Unlocked Monday January 23, 2017 South Korean based Samsung has confirmed the batteries located in the Galaxy Note 7 is what caused their phone to overheat.  

The Galaxy Note 7 was released in August of 2016 and reports of overheating and explosions began to surface in September. In October the company announced a worldwide recall of the device.

It was reported the Samsung may have lost more $17 billion dollars, once the corporation stopped producing and requested a recall of the smartphone.
